About Tharaka Ukwatte

Hi, I’m Tharaka Ukwatte—an experienced Cloud Engineer and AWS Architect based in the Peoria, Illinois area. I work on secure, scalable, and cost-conscious cloud solutions for enterprise workloads at Caterpillar.

This site is where I share practical lessons from building, operating, and learning about modern systems. Expect clear, hands-on writing about cloud architecture, automation, cloud-native patterns, AI developer tools, and the engineering choices behind resilient software.

My technical background includes AWS, Python, Linux, Docker, Terraform, CloudFormation, and infrastructure automation. I hold five AWS certifications and a degree in Computing and Information Systems from the University of London.

I write to make complex topics more approachable and to keep an honest, practical record of what is worth trying. If you’re exploring a cloud design, automation challenge, or product idea, I hope you find something useful here.
